What is ADAS Re-Calibration?

Re-Calibration is the process of returning a vehicle’s ADAS to the manufacturers OEM specifications guaranteeing all the safety systems operate correctly.

When damage occurs to your vehicle or you need a windshield replacement, nearly all automakers specify that these camera systems be re-calibrated.

How is Re-Calibration done?

There are two basic processes for Re-Calibration. Different manufacturers require either a Static or Dynamic process be performed and for some vehicles both are required.

1Dynamic Re-Calibration
Requires connecting a calibration tool into the vehicles OBD port and driving the vehicle at a set speed on well-marked roads to calibrate the camera system.
2Static Re-Calibration
Requires a vehicle specific target image mounted on a fixture in front of the vehicle's forward facing camera during the re-calibration process. This process must be done following very rigid specifications.
